Situated on the waterfront in Fredericton’s South Side, East Coast Leadership Academy offers a perfect balance of convenience and proximity for families and community partners.
We believe that a thoughtfully designed outdoor classroom is just as crucial as the indoor one. Children should have the opportunity to explore the world around them, and learning should extend beyond the school’s walls. That’s why our ECLA location was carefully chosen to offer ample natural space for outdoor learning and play, creating a truly enriching educational experience for our students.
We’ve invested in exciting renovations, which have transformed the learning environment into a cutting-edge space that prioritizes creativity and adaptability.
Our school includes open-concept classrooms equipped with flexible furniture, movable walls, and two remarkable outdoor classrooms that face the serene river, offering students a truly unique learning experience. Large glass patio doors bring in ample natural light, and also seamlessly connect the indoor and outdoor spaces.
UNB Campus
Our second campus
Beginning fall 2026, East Coast Leadership Academy middle school students in Grades 6–8 will attend classes at our new second campus, located at the Wu Centre at the University of New Brunswick. Our collaboration with UNB gives ECLA students hands-on access to UNB’s labs, facilities, and faculty across disciplines including science, engineering, management, and more — bringing real-world professional learning into the school day.
ECLA has always been about rethinking education. Our students are encouraged to work at their own pace, and many progress above grade level. As students advance through the NB curriculum toward Grade 12 outcomes and our first graduating class slated for 2030, they will have the opportunity to earn dual credits so that work completed at ECLA can count toward first-year classes at UNB.
